Autumn Philadelphia Wedding at 1912 Club | Jatnna + Khadijah

Aesthetic: Warm Fall Tones and Statement Florals

These two brides had such a great grasp on the color palette they wanted for their Autumn wedding at the 1912 Club that we were excited to get to work on the full scope of Fall tones that we were going to get to play with!

Jatnna and Khadijah had some deep, earthy colors planned for their bridal party and decor, with bridesmaids in rich burgundy wine colors, and the tailored coppery orange bridal suit for Khadijah, so we wanted to pick flowers that would stand up to those tones.

What flowers can come to the rescue with almost any tone variation we need? DAHLIAS. Such a gorgeous and versatile flower that looks just as good in a bouquet as it does in a wedding arch. And we used them in both for this wedding!

Jatnna’s bouquet was one of my favorite of 2022. Not every bride will go for long dramatic tendrils of greenery like the ones we decided on for her wedding bouquet, but we knew Jatnna had the confidence to handle it, rather than have it overwhelm her. The end result was incredible.

That bouquet was a statement piece and the big commitment to greenery looked stunning against the bright contrast of their outfits in their couple’s portraits. I could not have been more pleased with it.

Their wedding arch and tall centerpieces also hold a special place in my heart because we were able to showcase the full gradient of color changes that occur in the Fall in the Lehigh Valley.

All of the color in their pieces were 100% local and sustainably sourced, including the greenery, with some of it coming from our own backyards!

Sometimes, as a florist, you get to see mother nature in action and make little last minute additions from the environment, and it is such a fun way to be creative and resourceful!

Favorite last minute ingredient: Firebush in my yard that was changing color at the perfect time. We ended up cutting huge branches from it for their arch and centerpieces. The leaves were all at different stages of changing to red, so the branches tied in some color from every flower we had. Combined with some Maple foliage, it was a stunning and fiery Autumnal wedding arch.

Their bright and clear wedding day just outside of Philadelphia gave us the best opportunity to display their gorgeous wedding flowers, and it was such a privilege to be able to spend the day helping them to celebrate their love.

Fall in Pennsylvania is always a knockout!
