Creating tailored floral arrangements for a wedding is one of the most rewarding experiences for a wedding florist. Last summer, we had the opportunity to design a soft and delicate pastel floral arrangement for Dana and Eddie's stunning wedding at Pen Ryn Estate in Bensalem, Pennsylvania and it was an incredible opportunity to bring some lively texture to a more subtle palette.

This bride and groom wanted a classic combination of soft greens, whites, and blush pinks, to create an ethereal atmosphere at their wedding ceremony and reception. Whenever we get a soft palette, our designer look to create arrangements that are delicate and beautiful but still impactful, and we do this by playing up texture in all of our designs.

Pulling from a selection of both hardier and more delicate blooms, we went with a few main varieties: Dahlias and Lisianthus gave the arrangements that lush wow factor, several different types of grasses provided cloud and fluff, Cosmos and Gomphrena danced with movement, and Hydrangea and Sedum formed the base. Our designers artfully arranged these blooms to create an airy and romantic look that was perfect for Dana and Eddie's special day.

Adding a sentimental note, Eddie’s mother had preserved his late father’s boutonniere, and she sent it to us to incorporate with some fresh flowers for Eddie to wear. We thought that was such a sweet tribute for a wedding day.

Dana and Eddie were married in a sweet church ceremony, and then the reception moved over to the stately Pen Ryn Estate. Pen Ryn is so large and historic that we wanted to bring a feeling of “lightness”, both in color and aesthetic, to the space without taking away from the incredible character of the architecture.

TWIG designers wove delicate greenery up the grand staircase, accenting it with some glowing flameless candles for a wedding photo opportunity. For the reception, we brought that cloud-like weightlessness with billowing centerpieces that included delicate bud vases, gold compotes, and more candles.

The end result was a beautiful and unique floral design that perfectly captured the romantic spirit of the wedding. From bouquets to centerpieces, our floral designers used only local seasonal flowers to bring this vision to life, and we were honored to create these special arrangements that reflected Dana and Eddie's style and vision.
