Exquisite Union League Wedding Flowers

New Years Eve Icy Glamor

There is nothing like a New Year's Eve Wedding at the Union League of Philadelphia, especially when it's an Icy Wonderland. Romantic and full flower designs, glowing candles, mixed metals, and disco balls—this wedding was a classic beauty with pops of fun!

The Union League: A Perfect Venue for a Timeless Celebration

The Union League of Philadelphia is a venue steeped in history and elegance, making it an ideal setting for Stefanie and Christian's wedding. Located in the heart of Philadelphia, The Union League boasts stunning architecture and a rich heritage that dates back to its founding in 1862. This iconic venue offers a variety of event spaces, each exuding classic sophistication and grandeur. It's a timeless backdrop for any celebration with opulent ballrooms, intimate parlors, and beautiful outdoor terraces.

For Stefanie and Christian's special day, The Union League's impeccable service and attention to detail ensured that their wedding was spectacular. As their chosen florist, we created a bespoke floral design that complemented the venue's grandeur and reflected the couple's unique style.

Fireplace Installations: A Touch of Whimsy

One of the highlights of Stefanie and Christian's wedding decor was the fireplace installations. Initially planned as a single installation, the couple loved the design so much that we decided to create two. These installations featured an imaginative and whimsical display of disco balls. By connecting the disco balls with wooden skewers, we imagined them overflowing from the fireplaces. The reflective surfaces of the disco balls added a touch of glamour and playfulness, perfectly balancing the elegance of The Union League's historic interiors.

Cocktail Hour: Elegance in Blue and Beige

For the cocktail hour, we adorned the tables with an array of painted vases in shades of blue and beige, paired with dark blue pinch bowl-style bud vases. These vessels were filled with low, round floral arrangements that brought the space a soft, romantic feel. The florals were predominantly white, accented with greenery and dark elements, including branches with dark fruits, adding depth and texture to the arrangements. The bars were decorated with a mix of tall, glass floral arrangements, creating a cohesive and sophisticated look throughout the cocktail area.

Balloon Installations: A Breath of Fresh Air

To add an extra layer of elegance to the decor, we collaborated with the Glenmoore Balloon Company to incorporate Baby's Breath into two stunning balloon installations. These installations brought the space a light and airy feel, contrasting beautifully with the more structured floral designs. Adding Baby's Breath to the balloons added a touch of whimsy and sophistication, making them a memorable decor feature.

Tablescapes: A Symphony of Light and Florals

The reception featured a long head table and two other long tables adorned with a breathtaking tablescape. We spread multiple rectangular, foot-long centerpieces down the tables, interspersed with candlesticks in various shades of metal, all topped with midnight blue candles. The tables also featured several candelabras, votives, dark blue bud vases (pinch bowls), and real dark fruits, creating a rich and opulent look. At the foot of each long table, we placed 3-foot floral designs, predominantly white with dark accent flowers, adding height and drama to the overall design.

Guest Tables: A Trio of Designs

The 24 guest tables were decorated with one of three distinct designs:

1. Tall Glass Vases: These were topped with beautiful balls of Baby's Breath, creating an ethereal and elegant look that added height and visual interest to the room.

2. Low, Round Centerpieces: These centerpieces, surrounded by three midnight-blue candlesticks on various metal stands, included disco ball accents, adding a modern and playful touch to the decor.

3. Votive-Surrounded Centerpieces: These low, round floral arrangements were encircled by votives, casting a warm and inviting glow over the tables, enhancing the romantic ambiance of the evening.
