Timeless Villanova Inn Wedding | Copley + Michael

We know that planning a wedding can be both exciting and stressful as there are so many things to put together. There are so many options for wedding aesthetics and decor, and with many themes and colors to choose from, finding the right combination can be a climb.

So when couples come to us with an idea about their dream wedding florals, we like to be able to take their inspiration and run with it, designing a complete floral theme and layout for their big day. It’s something we love to take off their plates. TWIG aims to be creative, flexible, and able to incorporate your ideas, while also bringing in our botanical expertise to give you advice on what’s in season and what will be stunning for the look you're trying to achieve.

When we have a couple like Copley and Michael, who were looking for an elegant and timeless wedding with green and white florals, we had quite a few ideas to give them just the right combination of stems to provide the perfect ambiance for their vision.

When it comes to green and white florals, you have numerous options to choose from. From romantic roses and delicate peonies to the simplicity of baby's breath or the elegance of hydrangeas, there is always room for versatility when selecting the appropriate blooms. Additionally, incorporating greenery such as ivy, ferns, and eucalyptus leaves provides additional depth and texture to your floral arrangements.

Shades of green, such as emerald or sage, alongside white look particularly stunning against a bride's white dress, and this was absolutely true of the sleek and simple white dress Copley choose for her big day.

On top of that, when considering what kind of floral arrangements you want, considering your venue and the space available for the décor is an important component in making sure your designs are to scale. For example, a smaller and more intimate venue calls for smaller floral arrangements like a variety of bud vases or small greenery arrangements. In contrast, larger venues with high ceilings would look better with tall arrangements such as elevated floral arrangements or statement floral centerpieces.

Michael and Copley's venue, the Villanova Inn was somewhere in between those ends of the spectrum. Nestled in the heart of Villanova University, the Villanova Inn is a historic space with stunning gardens, picturesque indoor areas, and an elegant ballroom that was going to mesh well with their color palette.

We landed on the taller centerpieces for their reception space, with glass vessels and gold stands to complement the clear acrylic chairs the couple had chosen for seating. When the lights were finally turned down and the candles were lit, the effect was reflective and magical.

It was a modern and elegant wedding for a modern and elegant couple, and we were thrilled to bring their New Years Eve wedding to life with these floral touches.
