The Old Mill Rose Valley Wedding Flowers

Colorful and Bright Summer Wedding

Katie and Dylan’s wedding was one for the books, a celebration filled with vibrant colors and thoughtful details that perfectly suited us at TWIG. From our initial design consultation to the final touches on their special day, we knew this wedding at The Old Mill Rose Valley would be a feast for the senses. We couldn’t wait to bring their vision to life.

The Vision: A Colorful and Lush Celebration

When Katie and Dylan came to us with their ideas, they described a wedding that was not just beautiful but bursting with personality and joy. They envisioned a rich, vibrant color palette—yellows, oranges, pinks, purples, and greens woven throughout the entire event, complemented by fresh fruits in matching hues. The goal was to create a wedding that felt warm, inviting, and brimming with life.

One of the unique elements Katie wanted was for her bridesmaids to carry baskets filled with flowers instead of traditional bouquets. This playful twist perfectly incorporated their love of the unexpected and set the tone for the day.

Bringing the Vision to Life in the Studio

With the design direction set, our studio became a bustling workshop of creativity and color. We carefully curated each flower and fruit, selecting the perfect shades and textures to create a cohesive yet dynamic look. Vibrant local flowers formed the foundation of the floral arrangements, while lemons, limes, grapefruit, and kiwi added a fresh, fun element that tied the entire design together.

The bridesmaids’ baskets were a highlight. Each basket was meticulously filled with a lush mix of blooms and greenery, creating a romantic, almost whimsical effect. We could already imagine them being carried down the aisle, adding a unique touch to the ceremony.

The Big Day: A Floral Wonderland at The Old Mil

When we arrived at The Old Mill on the day of the wedding, we were greeted by its rustic charm and serene beauty. The historic stone walls and lush surroundings provided the perfect canvas for Katie and Dylan’s vibrant celebration.

For the cocktail hour, we placed vibrant flower frogs throughout the space. These playful arrangements seemed to pop up everywhere, bringing bursts of color and life to every corner of the venue. Guests were welcomed with an atmosphere that felt lively and full of joy, perfectly reflecting Katie and Dylan’s personalities.

A Show-Stopping Reception

The centerpiece of the reception space was undoubtedly the long sweetheart table. Adorned with a lush floral runner, interspersed with flower frogs and fresh fruit, it was a true statement piece. Lemons, limes, grapefruit, and kiwi were artfully placed among the flowers, adding both color and texture. Pillar candles in shades that complemented the floral arrangements created a warm, romantic glow that made the entire table feel like something out of a fairytale.

The front of the sweetheart table was lined with large, vibrant floral arrangements that cascaded toward the floor, creating a lush, garden-like feel. It was a breathtaking sight and the perfect setting for Katie and Dylan to share their first meal as a married couple.

The large stage was equally stunning, with additional large floral arrangements, colorful pillar candles, and fresh fruit lining the edge. It provided a dramatic backdrop for speeches, toasts, and, of course, the first dance.

Thoughtful Details at Every Turn

The guest tables were a beautiful blend of design and personal touches. Fifteen tables were topped with the bridesmaids’ baskets, now repurposed as centerpieces. Placed atop small stacks of vintage books, surrounded by flower frogs and votives, they created a charming, intimate atmosphere at each table. It was a lovely nod to the bridal party and a way to incorporate the ceremony’s unique elements into the reception decor.

The remaining five tables featured large, lush floral arrangements that drew the eye and tied the entire room together. Each table told a story, contributing to the overall narrative of love, joy, and celebration that Katie and Dylan wanted their guests to experience.

A Day to Remember

As the sun set and the celebrations continued, the entire space felt alive with color, light, and love. Katie and Dylan’s wedding was a vibrant, joyful celebration that we were honored to be a part of.

It was a true joy to bring their vision to life and to see how much it meant to them and their loved ones. From the first meeting in our studio to the last petal placed on their wedding day, every moment reminded us why we love what we do.

Congratulations, Katie and Dylan! May your lives together be as colorful and full of love as your beautiful wedding day.
