Inn at Barley Sheaf Wedding Flowers
Elegant and Clean Fall Wedding
When Gabriella and John approached TWIG Gardens to design the floral arrangements for their wedding at The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm, we knew we were in for a treat. Their vision of an elegant and clean theme featuring whites, blues, and greens perfectly complemented the venue’s romantic charm. Let’s take a journey from our initial consultation to the breathtaking wedding day.
The Venue: The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm
Nestled among over 30 acres of preserved farmland and forests in Bucks County, PA, The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm offers a picturesque backdrop for weddings. With its historic manor house, lush gardens, and rustic barn, the estate provides a variety of timeless ceremony and reception areas that can accommodate up to 300 guests. The venue's natural beauty and historic elegance made it an ideal canvas for Gabriella and John’s wedding.
Consultation and Planning
From our first meeting, Gabriella and John expressed their desire for an elegant and clean aesthetic, focusing on a palette of white, blue, and green. They envisioned lush greenery, classic white blooms, and subtle hints of blue to add depth and sophistication. Understanding their vision, we set out to create designs that would enhance the venue’s natural beauty while reflecting the couple’s personal style.
Green and white wedding flowers are a theme that absolutely never goes out of style. While we love to play with textures and novel non-floral elements when designing with this classic palette, nothing stands as long as a couples' favorite among our clients.
Ceremony Décor: A Lush Floral Arch
For the outdoor ceremony, we designed a full arch adorned with abundant greenery and four sections of pristine white flowers. This lush backdrop framed Gabriella and John beautifully as they exchanged vows, adding a touch of natural elegance to the romantic setting. The arch not only served as a focal point for the ceremony but also provided a stunning backdrop for photographs.
Reception Décor: Fireplace Mantel and Table Arrangements
Inside the historic barn, the reception area exuded warmth and charm. We adorned the fireplace mantel with two generous arrangements of greenery and white flowers, complemented by an array of pillar candles. To emulate a “lit” fireplace, we filled the hearth with numerous candles, casting a soft, inviting glow throughout the room.
For the dining tables, we created long, lush green garlands interspersed with white flowers and subtle blue accents. These garlands ran down the center of the long guest tables and the sweetheart table, adding continuity and elegance to the space. Round guest tables featured medium-sized centerpieces of white and green florals, accompanied by votive candles and table numbers, creating an intimate and cohesive atmosphere.
Enhancing the Ambiance: Greenery on Wooden Pillars and Beams
To further integrate the natural theme, we wrapped the wooden pillars behind the sweetheart table and the ceiling beams above the guest tables with greenery. This addition brought the beauty of the outdoors inside, enhancing the rustic charm of the barn and creating a seamless flow between the ceremony and reception spaces.
Wedding Day Execution
On the day of the wedding, our team arrived early to bring the vision to life. The outdoor ceremony space was transformed with the lush floral arch standing proudly against the backdrop of the estate’s gardens. Inside, the fireplace mantel glowed with candlelight, and the greenery-draped beams added a touch of enchantment to the reception area.
As Gabriella and John entered the barn as newlyweds, the ambiance was nothing short of magical. The combination of elegant florals, candlelight, and the historic charm of The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm created an unforgettable setting for their celebration.
