Fairy Garden Parque Wedding Flowers | Katrina + Callan
Weddings are all about making the couple's dreams come true, and what could be more dreamy than a fairytale garden wedding?
Our first wedding of the 2023 season was this knockout at Parque Ridley Creek, which is the perfect venue for enchanted nuptials. We had the pleasure of creating a floral design for this St. Patrick's Day wedding for Katrina and Callan.
This couple had a wedding palette that had lots of green because of a special connection to Ireland, where they met! We wanted to honor that with a variety of greenery and fairy garden-inspired accents.
We used a mix of white and soft yellow spring blooms—anemone, daffodils, and roses—and plenty of foliage to give the wedding bouquets an effortless outdoor look. Adding fern fronds made each piece move organically and look like we had just plucked it out of the garden.
This effect was particularly noticeable in Katrina's bridal bouquet, which was arranged in a cascade style that seemed to drip out of her hands.
The bridesmaids had smaller individual arrangements that mirrored this designed but also incorporated small sprays of silky blue to give them some dimension. The overall look against the sage of their bridesmaids gowns was soft and muted.
The lush gardenesque design looked stunning against Katrina's delicate beaded wedding gown that embodied their whimsical fairytale theme.
For the reception arrangements, the head table was the focal point of our design. We created a picturesque fairy garden landscape with bases surrounded by moss and smaller accents of mushrooms, acorns, mini pinecones, and votive candles.
The table was draped with this lush green base and then then we arranged more cream, white, pale yellow, and soft pink flower arrangements. Freestanding frog vessels created the look of flowers springing up straight from the table. Accented with soft blue candlesticks, it created an ethereal and otherworldly atmosphere for the bridal party.
To further enhance the fairytale theme, we also decorated the built-in bookshelf and fireplace mantels with bud vases filled with ferns and moss.
We also crafted a full fern forest on the staircase, complete with lit candles. This created a feeling of walking through an enchanted forest and added a beautiful touch to the entrance of the reception area. Touches like these add a subtle but magical element to the reception space.
Of course, no fairytale garden wedding would be complete without floral centerpieces. We opted for low, lush arrangements that incorporated some of the same elements as the head table. This included moss, acorns, and mini pinecones. We also used a mixture of greens and white flowers to add texture and depth to each arrangement.
There's something truly magical about a fairytale garden wedding, and Parque Ridley Creek is the perfect venue to make that dream come true. Whether you're looking to create a woodland wonderland or a lush garden paradise, incorporating elements like moss, mushrooms, and candlelight can add a whimsical touch to your floral design. As a wedding florist, I have seen first-hand the joy and beauty that can come from crafting a fairytale-inspired wedding, so don't be afraid to let your imagination run wild.
